Part Replacement

Left: original cast hinge in good condition.
Right: broken hinge
Center: machined replacement

Note that all replacement parts are marked as such and dated - especially important if the same or very similar materials are used.  Planes are restored to same physical construction as original (as much as possible - e.g., white oak is substituted for unavailable live oak) but the effort is not to make the planes airworthy, but to preserve them for future reference and display.
